Spiritual Environment & The Ministry of Blessed Mary Catherine Kasper
Spiritual Environment
Health is not merely defined as the absence of disease or infirmity. At Carlyle Healthcare Center, it is more importantly the state of physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
These four areas are vital in each person's life. Long term
care residents are able to express their need to examine their
faith, come to terms with their conditions, and find meaning and
purpose for their lives.

One of the major services offered by Carlyle Healthcare
Center is that of Chaplaincy. There is a positive correlation
between the resident's attitudes and religious conviction.
At Carlyle Healthcare Center, we are proud to have a chapel on
our beautiful campus (pictured at the top of the page). Directed by priests and ministers,
The Blessed Catherine Kasper
Chapel provides a place of prayer and worship for all of our
residents.
Many local ministers, choirs, volunteers, guild members and
children of area churches visit the Center and residents
regularly. Ministers in the Carlyle area work in harmony with
our Spiritual Director.

The
Ministry Of Blessed Mary
Catherine Kasper
Carlyle Healthcare Center is dedicated in honor of Blessed Mary Catherine Kasper. She was born in Germany in 1820 and went on to found the Congregation of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in 1851. One of her first missions in the United States was in 1874 to serve the residents of the Carlyle area. She was rich in compassion and love for the poor and sick, so much that she built a "little house" to serve as a center from which she nursed the sick of her village. So it is with great honor that Carlyle healthcare is dedicated to her.
In the courtyard, the outstretched arms of her statue offer care to all those in need. She served as a constant reminder of the importance in dedicating one's life to the care of others.

Mass Services
Services are offered daily by our Pastoral staff in the
beautifully decorated chapel, adorned with beautiful stained glass
windows. Additional services are offered weekly by local ministry.
